NOT JUST 1'S AND 0'S

Contrary to popular belief, Digital Audio and Video is by no means perfect. During the video processing and data transfer some of the original data is lost or corrupted. Various error correction methods are used to fill-in or guess the lost data, resulting in an inaccurate representation of the original image i.e. poor contrast, un-natural colours, reduced 3-dimentionality, noise etc.

Like electronic circuitry, cables also have a significant effect on the signal quality because of issues related to their electrical properties. The quality of cables varies widely and therefore it is important to choose a cable that is able to deliver the desired performance.
